This guide explains how to fill each column in the COGS template in the same order as the sheet, before uploading it via Pulse or Daton.
How to Use This Guide
For each column below, you will find:
- Data Type – Expected format of the value
- Required – Whether the column must be filled
- Description – What value should be entered
- Example – Sample value for reference
Do not rename columns or change their order.

Description:
Brand name that you have provided on Pulse. Ensure it matches exactly.

Description:
Country where your seller account or Shopify store is connected. Enter the marketplace code in the sheet.

Category
Data Type: String
Required: Not Mandatory (if needed)
Description:
High-level product category used for grouping and reporting. Refers to the internal grouping of different products. The same product can belong to Category 1 on Amazon and Category 2 on Shopify. If you have a common grouping for these categories for a unified view, enter it in the sheet. If not, you can leave it empty.

Sub_Category
Data Type: String
Required: Not Mandatory (if needed)
Description:
Sub-category within the main category. Refers to the internal grouping of different products. The same product can belong to Sub-category 1 on Amazon and Sub-category 2 on Shopify. If you have a common grouping for these sub-categories for a unified view, enter it in the sheet. If not, you can leave it empty.

Product_Name
Data Type: String
Required: Not Mandatory (if needed)
Description:
The common name for the product across different platforms. The name might differ between Amazon and Shopify. If you have a nickname (common name) for a unified view, enter it here. If not, leave it empty, and the product name will be taken from the Amazon ASIN or Shopify product ID.

Currency_Code
Data Type: String

Description:
Currency code for the COGS value you wish to enter. Use standard currency codes.

COGS
Data Type: Number
Required: Mandatory
Description:
Cost of goods sold at the child ASIN level for Amazon or Product ID level for Shopify. Ensure the cost of goods sold is recorded in the same currency mentioned in the Currency_Code. Enter numeric values only.

Start_Date
Data Type: Date
Required: Mandatory
Description:
The initial date from which the given COGS value is applicable for a particular product.
Example:

End_Date
Data Type: Date
Required: Not Mandatory
Description:
The final date up to which the given COGS value is applicable for a particular product.
Example:
2024-12-31
. The columns after End_date are for customisation purpose. You can choose to not fill the columns after End_date
Please ensure you do not delete them; simply leave them empty.
Custom SKUs and Labels

Custom SKUs and Custom Lables are to be added in the columns shown above.
Custom Label Columns
Data Type: String
Required: Not Mandatory
Description:
Use these columns when you do not have a predefined column for your use case.
They can be treated as custom attributes where you can fill any relevant data, and it will be consumed by the system for reporting and analysis.
If not required, these columns can be left blank.
Example:

Custom SKU columns
Data Type: String
Required: Not Mandatory
Description:
If a single product is associated with multiple SKUs, you can populate the additional SKU columns available in the template to capture all related SKUs for the same product. This allows us to correctly map and consume COGS across multiple SKUs belonging to one product.
Example:
SKU_1001
Additional SKUs (if applicable): SKU_1001_A, SKU_1001_B
Important Notes
- Fill data only in the data entry sheet
- Do not change column names or order
- Ensure all mandatory fields are populated
- Values must match the specified data types
