Connect Saras iQ to Slack
This guide walks you through the steps to connect your company’s iQ account to Slack and start querying your data directly from your channels.
You can now use Saras iQ without leaving your favorite workspace—Slack.

Pre-requisite
-
For now, only an iQ and Slack Admin can authorize and create the integration. Once set up, anyone on your Slack can use it.
- If you are not a Slack Admin, you can add your Slack Admin as an Admin in iQ so that they can set up the integration.
- Check this doc on how to add an Admin or a User to iQ
Steps to Connect Slack with iQ
1. Click Integrate with Slack on the Navigation Panel.
Or you can also go to Settings → Integrations → Find Slack → Click Connect

This option to integrate iQ with Slack will only be visible to an iQ Admin.
2. You will be redirected to Slack—Select the Slack workspace you want to connect to and click Allow to authorize access

If you are not a Slack Admin, you will see a permission error message
3. After authorization, you will be redirected back to iQ and see a confirmation message indicating that Slack has been successfully connected

Once connected, head over to Slack—you’ll receive a notification confirming that the iQ app has been successfully added to your workspace.
Using iQ in Slack
1. Add the iQ bot to any Slack channel. In the channel, type @iQ and press Enter.

2. Type @iQ to invoke the app, then ask your question—iQ will respond in a thread.

4. Continue the conversation by asking follow-up questions in the same thread

Important Note
- The iQ bot is available only in Slack channels (not in direct messages).
- All members of a channel where the bot is added can use it to query iQ.
- Responses are shared within the channel thread for visibility and collaboration.
Disconnecting Slack
- Go to Settings
- Click on Integrations
- Select Disconnect
