What’s New in Daton?
This section includes:
Platform and Connector Enhancements: Find out how we have optimized your process flows, fixed the bugs that irritated you, and advanced the performance of the most loved connectors.
New Connectors: Our library is growing by leaps and bounds every day; see the ones recently added that will allow you to unite Daton with an even greater number of data sources.
Platform Enhancements
We have upgraded our data pipeline as a part of our ongoing efforts to improve job replication speeds, achieve 100% adherence to job schedules and reduce long running jobs. This new infrastructure upgrade has taken a couple of weeks to stabilize, resulting in certain jobs not running as per schedule. Those issues have now been resolved and we believe that customers will feel the long term impact of this change by way of reduction in delays of data replication.
Connector Enhancements
Amazon Brand Metrics
Added 6 new columns to the following tables:
- BrandMetricsReport_1week
- BrandMetricsReport_1calendarmonth
- BrandMetricsReport_1month
The following columns were added to all the three tables, these new columns provide valuable insights into customer engagement: |

Amazon Sponsored Display & Sponsored Brands
- Error messages displayed on the UI were not user-friendly.
- Updated error handling to make error messages more readable, especially for server-related issues.
- This improvement helps users understand the root cause of failed tables, ensuring transparency and easier troubleshooting.
- No action is required from users.
Amazon Sponsored Products
- Jobs for the KeywordRecommendation table were failing due to API rate limits.
- A Rate Limiter has been introduced to monitor API rate limits. If the limit is reached, Daton pauses temporarily before retrying.
- This enhancement has led to a 40% increase in successful jobs, significantly improving system reliability.
- No action is required from users.
Amazon Attribution
- Users were unable to remove invalid Profile IDs when editing an integration.
- The edit flow has been updated to allow users to unselect invalid profiles as needed.
- This fix will help maintain successful integrations.
- Edit the integration to remove any invalid profiles.
EasyEcom
- Traditional start/end date range parameters limited the data fetching functionality of the Orders table.
- Updated the Orders table to use enhanced date range parameters instead of the traditional start/end dates.
- This improvement allows for capturing the entire journey of an order.
- No action required.
Google Ads
- We’ve upgraded the Google Ads API from version 15 to version 16. This upgrade is part of our ongoing efforts to stay up to date with Google Ads latest releases, ensuring access to newly added fields and resources.
- This update introduces new fields and resources, allowing for enhanced integration and access to additional data insights.
- No fields have been deprecated or changed, so existing setups will remain unaffected. However, there are newly added fields that you can explore and integrate manually.
Amazon Selling Partner
- The Tracking_ID column was using an integer data type, but Amazon returns it as a string, causing all values to be zero and resulting in incomplete reports.
- A new TrackingID column has been added with the correct string data type to handle data accurately. Data will now populate correctly in this new column.
- This update ensures existing users receive accurate tracking data starting from September 5th, 2024, while new users will have the TrackingID column seamlessly integrated from the start.
- Users will experience more accurate and consistent tracking data in their reports, improving overall system reliability.
- The new TrackingID column has been added automatically. Users can begin using this column, and if historical data is required, they can perform a rollback.
- Product titles in the FlatFileAllOrdersReportbyLastUpdate are incorrectly displayed for the Japan marketplace.
- We enhanced Unicode support at the connector level by dynamically fetching the charset from Amazon's response instead of defaulting to "UTF-8." This change fixes the issue where Japanese product titles were displayed incorrectly because they were sent in a different format called "Windows-31J." Now, we can read all characters correctly, not just for Japanese but for other languages too.
- This change allows us to fetch Japanese language content correctly and eliminates the appearance of random characters with Japanese language content. The fix not only addresses issues with Japanese characters but also improves overall Unicode support for all regions.
- Users will experience accurate product titles and enhanced support for Unicode characters, improving the reliability of data across all marketplaces.
- The changes have been implemented automatically and are working as intended. However, if you need historical data, a rollback will be required. These changes were made on September 13th, 2024.
Amazon Vendor Central
- We have added a new column, vendorConfirmationRate, to both the vendorInventoryReportBySourcing and vendorInventoryReportByManufacturing tables.
- This column tracks how reliably a vendor confirms the inventory requested by Amazon. This metric is crucial for ensuring that vendors can fulfil their orders consistently and on time.
